Harmony Project is an award -winning research-based 501(c)3 non-profit that brings tuition-free music programs to the most vulnerable communities of Los Angeles as a means of promoting positive youth development in at-risk youth. In addition to quality music education programs, Harmony Project provides supporting resources, college incentive, and oppotunities that help foster a community of families that actively support their children's growth and development. Begining in 2001 the mission of the Harmony Project is to : Promote the healthy growth and delvelopment of children through the study, practice, and performance of music; Build healthier communities by investing in the positive development of children through music; Develop children as musical ambassadors of peace, hope and understanding among people of diverse cultures, backgrounds, and beliefs. The Harmony Project has won numerous accolades, including the Coming Up Taller Award friom the President's Committee on the Arts & Humanities- the nation's highest honor for an arts-based youth program.
